Im sad to say another Eagle has taken wing. Grampa Bill Finn passed away last night in his sleep. He was and Original Screaming Eagle, POW, original EMT in Coal city, electrician, bar tender, fisherman, Scout Leader, but most important, he was Grampa Bill. Till the end he kept his wit and humor. Age may have worn down his body but could not take that. We that knew him are lucky to have known such a loving man. I learned much from him. Becuase of him I gained my love of history, because he lived it. Living through the depression, working in the Conservation Corps, D Day, prisoner of war, liberated by the Russians, all made him the man he became. He raised a family and lived his days in peace. He had 3 kids, 3 grandkids, and 3 great-grandkids. Im glad Tyler and the girls got to know him. It is official. My heroes are all gone. Till we meet again Grampa Bill. #101stAirborne #
