Im seeing a lot of Christian backfire on the movie Noah, so as a (passionate) Christian and (nearly equally as passionate) historian/anthropologist/archaeologist, I have to put my two cents out there: At the risk of sounding attacking, I ask this question of every critic: were you there on the Ark? Did you build it with Noah? Did you live in the world pre-Flood? NO. Sorry, brothers and sisters in Christ, but Noahs story isnt about some happy-go-lucky do-gooder who built a big boat because God walked up to him and handed him blueprints, then Tarzan-called all the worlds species into aforementioned boat. A few things to consider: 1. God DOES NOT (please ignore Westboro) randomly destroy the planet He created, and the people He formed by hand in His own image, just because. Do you think the pagan gods and monsters just sprang up out of thin air post-flood? What could possibly drive our loving Creator to even begin to want to erase everything? So yes, there very well could have been rock monsters. Now there isnt BECAUSE THEY WERE DESTROYED PER THE POINT OF THE FLOOD. 2. Noah may have wanted people to be saved, so yes there could have been stowaways....but when it comes to go-time, when its your family or the neighbors who want to kill you, what are you going to choose? NOAH WAS HUMAN. Not some all-perfect angelic being lacking human emotion. To be continued, as I have to go clock out for lunch :P
