Im seriously trying to find someone who liked the movie Chef. I just hated it so much but it got an 88% on Rotten Tomatoes. Im a huge fan of Swingers and Made and Jon Favreau and pretty much everyone involved and I wanted to like the movie. I planned on liking the movie. It was a shock. The dialogue is inane. The way they talk about the internet seems like my dad wrote it. Even though they persist that Twitter did not give them money for product placement, they talk about Twitter like it is all of the internet. They go through a list of things you can do on twitter like dating(?!) that are really just a list of things you can do on the internet. Everything was so cliche. Most of the characters are one note. Dustin Hoffmans character could have been played by a pair of furrowed eyebrows. Scarlett Johansson and Sophia Vergara are too hot for Favreau but thats fine because he is a famous Chef. I dont have a problem with that. Also the idea of someone losing their restaurant job and buying a food truck is so over done at this point. I just hated it so much. Why am I wrong?
