Im sharing this post from a friend as it reminds me of something that has bothered me for years. Folks, there is a difference between jogging and running. I know for us of the older crowd, jogging is ingrained in us from the 60s and 70s and we tend to use that term when we see anyone traveling on foot by a speed that is more than walking. Jogging is trotting along at a leisurely pace. Joggers jog mainly for health but also for fun and even socializing. Running is more intense. Runners are usually timing themselves, not only in speed but in distance. Joggers seldom do. While runners can also run for health, fun, and even socializing, running can come to some just short of an addiction for some. Friends, I run. I dont jog, I never have. Enough of the, Did you jog last evening? Really, I dont know anyone that jogs but I know plenty of runners. We have Trail Running Magazine and Running Times Magazine, not, Trail Jogging Magazine, and Jogging Times Magazine. After all, whens the last time youve heard of a 5K Jog?
