Im sharing this story to maybe help a Mommy thats going through the same situation. #DonorMilk #WetNursing #MilkSharing My friend is in corporate America with an awesome job that supports her family well. When she had her baby, she decided to breastfeed. Breastfeeding was great and Mom was blessed with an awesome supply. In lieu of going back to work at 4 months, Mom pumped and ended up with a huge freezer stash (500+ ounces) which was great... Except for one little problem: Baby girl will NOT take a bottle. Mom tried. Dad tried. Auntie tried. Babysitter tried. And baby just cried and cried. They tried cup feeding, syringes, spoon feeding pumped milk ... Nearly everything!! Baby protested every time. So whats a Mom to do when her baby refuses bottles and shes got to go back to work? Mommy got creative. Mom hired a new babysitter thats also a (healthy, disease free, drug free) Breastfeeding Mom with over supply and the babysitter nurses both babies during the day. So what did Mom do with all that freezer stash? She regularly donates it to premature twins. Talk about a win/win situation! Lets talk more about wet nursing! I think this situation and solution was genius. This Stay at home Mom babysitter is getting paid to take care of a baby and nurse it.
