Im simmering nicely like a pan of Scouse despite recent barbed comments aimed at foodbank users by certain gobshoites in the media. Keep out of it Eddie, has been the advice Ive given myself as Im well aware its merely a reflection of whats going on inside themselves that makes them spout shoite about things they know nothing about. Now, Im old school, in the sense that theres no way Id ever go hungry. I havent used a foodbank yet, but still eat well. What I do is buy a load of something and make about four of the same meal...say, potatoes, veg, meat and gravy...55p for 5lb potatoes in home & bargain, veg a pound, meat about £3 (liver and sausages), and a tin of gravy which is about £1.29, and lasts for ages. A bakewell tart for a pound (sliced into four quarters) and a tin of custard 55p. Thats four teas and puddings to keep me going Monday to Thursdays, and costs about £7.39...and then swap things around for the remainder of the week. But some of us have families to feed, and I understand how difficult it is, and how lucky I am that generally I only have to feed myself. @ Walk a mile in somebodys shoes before you open your mouth missus! (dont want to give her the benefit of a name check).
