Im sitting her at my computer this morning going through all my film scans that I received yesterday and I just want to cry. Good cry, not bad cry. I cant even explain this journey for me. For years I have worked so hard to transform my images to what I see in my head and sometimes I did it but so many times it just failed short for me. I felt like many times I just settled and it was good enough. My clients were happy, all of you gave rave reviews but to me something was missing. Shooting film has filled that void for me. It gives my images soul. Its not crazy tack sharp, its soft, its airy, its imperfect, it has depth and its speaks to me. I slow down, I wait for the moment, I connect...that is what is fulfilling for me. I know my work is not for everyone and Im ok with that, but Im finally at my happy place. Sigh, big sigh. Im going to be blogging this maternity session today...but heres a little peek. :) All shoot on film with the Contax 645.
