Im sitting here watching The Notebook and I think I know why people think romantic movies are unrealistic. Its because we dont date. We are so shallow and just in love with the idea of being in love. Women are more concerned with how much hes spending and men are more concerned with how fast they can get her. What happened to long phone conversations until both are sleepy? What happened to long summer walks and the only dime being spent is maybe to buy an ice cream cone? Its so much manipulation and deceit. Its all about who can play who before I get played. I dont think romantic movies are unrealistic at all. I think we dont what love is. So seeing it on the screen is considered unrealistic and corny. But being lied on, played with, verbally and/or physically abused, cheated on, and drama is the norm for most relationships today. The make up to break up is considered love.
