Im so DC I remember hanging at the 9:30 Club when it was actually located at 9:30 F Street NW in a hole in the wall, living in Foggy Bottom and then 612 L Street NE with Michael Taliaferro and Ariq Boke Izlar at the height of Rayful Edmonds reign, going to Posures and The Saloon in Georgetown, singing at the open mic night every Thursday with Tom Saputo at Mr. Henrys of Adams Morgan, when they first built Metrorail and opened the Red Line, homecomings at Howard ... even before I went to Howard ... free concerts at the Carter Baron (including the one where I met Noel Pointer by jumping a fence and sneaking back stage) ...
