Im so angry after watching the news tonight! I saw a story about a single mother and her three children who have been living out of their car and need public housing. She said that she has been on the public waiting list for two years and left a womens refuge because her son wasnt eating. She was offered a house in Broadmeadows but refused the offer because it was in a bad neighbourhood. Well I have been on the public housing list for twelve years and am still bloody waiting. I have never been offered a public house anywhere,and was a single mother to three kids too!! My house isnt in a fit state to live in, and I have to look for a private rental soon as I have to sell the house as part of my divorce settlement.Yet she she goes to the media to get sympathy. I feel for the kids but feel ripped off by the system.
