Im so confused! I put in an application for a Library of Congress - TopicsExpress

Im so confused! I put in an application for a Library of Congress number or at least a PCN two weeks ago and I havent received a account number or password. Absolutely nothing from them...crickets chirping but no acknowledgement of having received it. I have a middle grade childrens book ready to go. I wanted to have the number to put into the POD version of the book. My question is how do I know if they received my application? I understand they wont give me a LCCN because they only give traditionally published books with traditional publishers a number. I was hoping to get a library in my town to fill in the blank PCN number when I donated the book. Am I all wet on this? Should I forget about it and proceed? My frustration is that I may wait for them and they didnt get my application and Ive waited for nothing and will have resubmit. Is it worth getting? I know CreateSpace will apply for one for me for $25.00. I have my own ISBN. Sorry to take up so much room but I was hoping to pick someones brain on this. I hope this is the right place to ask this question. Thank you in advance.
