Im so excited to be in this group. I served on the Sound in 1989-1990.. I was a DP. I was on for a very short time, as I was medically discharged.. I became a Shellback and spent time in Bahrain, Diego Garcia (which was beautiful) and got off the ship in Italy to stay at the hospital for about 5 weeks. Came back to Norfolk and waited about 2 months to get discharged. I had such an amazing time on the Sound. I was also the drummer for the ship band. We played for the July 4th picnic while we cruised through the Suez Canal. I wish I could find all my pictures (I have a lot)...if I find them, Ill post them. Again thanks for letting me join the group.
