Im so grateful that we spent Christmas with our homeless friends today. When we pulled up and started unloading the trailer, it was so neat to see all the people start making their way over to us. There wasnt a foodshare going on tonight so the parking lot was pretty empty when we first got there but it didnt take long for word to travel and before we knew it, we were in full on distribution mode! Im not sure if there was a foodshare earlier today but the fact that so many people were hungry tonight and asking for food is still weighing heavy on my heart. I did bring some food with me but it wasnt enough to go around. A year ago I had no idea that Id be running a homeless ministry today and now here I am praying about the possibility of starting a foodshare. I know it takes permits but fortunately Im blessed to know so many awesome ministries so Im pretty certain I can get all the info I need. Furthermore, I know that if this is something that God wants Blessed by the Battle Homeless Ministry to do, He will make a way. The kids made a bunch of goody bags (they have mini bibles, candies, and a cute saying about Christmas in them) at church and they loved handing those out to our homeless friends today. There were quite a few left over so after the distribution, we walked around Lake Eola And finished handing them out. During the distribution, a homeless gentleman approached me and said that we always do so much for him and he just cant wait until he cam pay it all firward. This was such an awesome opportunity to share the love of Christ with him and let him know that God can use us all right where we are: rich, poor, broken, homeless...it doesnt matter! As long as we are willing, God can and will do great things in us and through us! 10 years ago I was a homeless drug addict with no hope. Today, Im a faithful believer of JESUS Christ and its my mission to offer hope to the hopless. Today Im a homeless advocate and friend. Merry Christmas friends ♡ ♡ ♡
