Im so ironton that I remember crossing railroad street on the school bus, and the driver having to stop and open the bus door to listen when it was foggy, because of the dt&I railroad in town---Im so west ironton I remember phillip street flooding, there was no waldo drive it was a swamp, no houses. my dad had a ditch in his backyard on phillip street, that was eventually filled in.-----I remember that winter in 77/78 or 78/79 that me and greg ainsworth made enough money shoveling snow that we could have bought a new bass boat back then had we not had other vices, we were cleaning peoples roofs on their houses for 50.00, driveways n sidewalk specials for 10.00.---I remember taking a vast majority of that money and spending it at carl Harveys gun shop on elm street.-----me and jay vanderpool got paddled in 1st grade at west ironton by mr. miller, I remember him telling me hed never had to paddle a 1st grader.-----I remember getting stood in the hall at west ironton, and getting a strange feeling, then my dad would drive by and stop n look for me, I was so had.-------I remember the Baja, behind where the new grade schools and junior high is now and my Honda 70 mini-bike.wed go through the Baja with our fishin poles n boxes strapped to it, cut through the ole cement plant by the sta-tan trailer parks, and we climb the floodwall, and spend the day fishin at the swamp in hangin rock.----I remember keith Harvey getting bit by a groundhog, and he had to have rabies shots---I remember the huge bonfires at moultons field in the late 70s and sliding down the hill hundreds of times a night------I remember when I turned 16, my dad passed down to me a 68 chevelle with a .327, the first night a carload of us were doing do-nuts in the snow and I slid into a telephone pole.-that didnt go to well, there were no timeouts, there were knockouts back then--wall to wall therapy was an option, you went from the kitchen wall, to the living room wall.-----I remember going to fads food store and buying packs of Winchester cigs/cigars and either crossing the highway or to the riverbank, and getting high as a Georgia pine inhaling them.
