Im so sick of political rhetoric, even from candidates with whom I generally agree, and even from news media. Issues cannot be fully captured in slogans and 30-second spots. Can somebody, somewhere present an unbiased, dispassionate examination of the political issues of our day? News media: thats YOUR job! Any news story should answer these questions: What is the issue? Who is presenting legislation for or against it? What are the arguments for and against (presented respectfully and fully, without slogans please), what is the intent (from the perspective of those in favor and those NOT in favor), what is the long-term consequence of this action on business? on individuals? on the employment rate? on the tax rate? etc. I dont claim to be a political genius, but I do know enough to realize that there are very few sources that I trust to tell me the WHOLE story. Weve all become a nation of political robots, repeating the mantras of our respective sides and more concerned with gotchas than whats best for our state and nation.
