Im so sorry for the delay between posts. Things have been somewhat up and down today. Mom has been taken off of the heparin blood thinning agent and her blood pressure meds. She is managing her blood pressure very well on her own. The radiology department noted a small stroke or brain bleed on this mornings CT scan. It took some time before we had a chance to speak with a doctor about it. He said that it most likely occurred during or immediately following the coiling procedure. But because of the amount of blood on her brain and the inflammation surrounding it they did not quite notice it. It would help explain the left limb paralysis she briefly experienced after returning to her room from the procedure. However the doctor showed us her initial CT scan showing a substantial amount of blood on the brain and compared it to this mornings CT scan. There has been a significant absorption of that blood and not much remains on her brain at all. She is not out of the woods by any sense of the term. They still are very closely monitoring her for the next several days. They are however looking toward getting her into a chair today rather than a bad bed. And tomorrow they may attempt to have a therapist help her walk a few steps. Please continue your prayers as we are sure they are helping our mother and wife and your friend.
