Im sorry, I dont think it was the cops being unreasonable, it was Ryan or whoever in the car that was being a smart ass. If insurance is required in Illinois, as it is in Louisiana, it is totally legal to stop drivers to be sure they are complying with the law, not only that but it is also required that you have a legal and current drivers license to be driving. Had the cops stopped him on the street walking and asked for his drivers license and insurance that would possibly be illegal, but stopping every driver or every other or whatever, is not unconstitutional, as the cop said, driving is not your right, its a privilege given to those who follow the law to obtain that right, and checking to see that drivers on the road are on the road legally is not only the only way to do it, but it tries to protect jerks like this guy from being hit by people who are not licensed or insured for driving. He needs to grow up.
