Im sorry It has been awhile since I have updated everyone on what is going with Jon. Jon is still continuing to get over the infection his last blood tests he did said things are looking good that infection is clearing up now. Jon has been going to physical-therapy 3 times a week. Jon and the therapist have been talking about the outcome for his hand and the therapist has talked in depth with doctor Farber that Jons hand would need multiple(7)(8) surgeries and the percentage of Jons hand having any kind of function is a very low chance of him even being able to grab things. That Jon would have a better chance moving on in life if he has his hand amputated and be fitted with Myoelectric hand prosthetic. So Jon and I have been doing a lot of research on prosthetic hands and companies that fit and train with myoelectric prosthetics. We have found a company in Irving Texas called Advanced Arm Dynamics that only specializes in upper extremities. We have found a prosthetic called bebionic3 that would give Jon The ability to do many functions that Jons hand if he keeps it wouldnt be able to do after all the surgeries to stabilize his hand. He would be lucky to only be able to feel hot and cold with his real hand and would always be in constant pain. The company we are looking at is on the cutting edge of technology for upper extremities they are the best at what they do and they fixed many veterans coming back from the Iraq and Afghanistan war. We have done our research and we believe that this is the best option for Jon. Please continue praying for Jon and i and our families to get through this time.
