Im sorry but I have to disagree, and heres why. Lowering the density of the city will increase the oil and gas consumption, higher rate of crime and residential costs. There is no guarantee people will start utilizing your transport system, and the fact is, people are more driven to buy personal cars. Depending on how you want the world to see Melbourne, a trading city? Cultural city? Tourist area? Or solid residential? Business and economical sustainability is the foundation of high standard of living, so develop high density residential and broaden your commercial and trading area is what I find a better way to go. Great talk nonetheless, well done.
