The coverage focus will center on the Twin Cities, however, statewide and national trends and stories will be pursued when appropriate. Major Functions: The beat has a steady mix of spot news and enterprise. This position requires intense sourcing, aptitude for data handling and analysis and skillful juggling of assignments. It also requires strong writing and reporting skills and exceptional critical thinking skills. The reporter will produce work that is accurate, fair and balanced that enhances the credibility of the newspaper in the community. The reporter must be active on social media and comfortable with databases. Qualifications: College degree is required. Five to seven years experience at a metro daily newspaper preferred; knowledge of the health care industry preferred. College degree is required.
