Im starting to really get the hang of teaching, but still learning everyday. The most rewarding parts of my job are getting to know my students and their families, helping them overcome their fears in the water and grow as a person and watching them achieve new skills and getting to graduate them level by level. I am learning how to balance working with each childs particular comfort level while at the same time having to push them to learn new skills. And also finding that balance of having fun and giving the kids some independence with staying on track in the lesson and being strict and watchful enough so the kids are safe and listening. I am blessed to get to work with a very diverse group of children including children who need special attention and special needs children, so it has been a difficult yet fun challenge to figure out how to best work with each child so they have a positive safe experience in their swim lesson while at the same time becoming a stronger more confident swimmer. Praise YHWH for this new job as well as my Lifetime Fitness job!
