Im starting to see a lot of posts pop up from visits to Ringling Brothers this weekend.. I can only assume the people posting are naively unaware of the incredible abuse, torture, and mistreatment those animals endure for your enjoyment. Allow me to show you what your money just allowed you to support. Ever wonder how elephants are trained to be so obedient while working in the tourism industry? Theyre torn from their mothers just after birth and beaten mercilessly for days on end. Theyre starved, stabbed, whipped, hung, chained, burned.. You name it. Any and every cruel act is done to them until their spirit is completely broken. From there, they spend the remainder of their lives carrying loads far too heavy for them, moving into positions their bodies arent built to hold, and forced into environments that are truly terrifying for them. Theyre kept in cages just large enough to stand in. Theyre never allowed to roam free or feel soft ground. They are whipped and stabbed with bullhooks for their E-N-T-I-R-E L-I-V-E-S.
