Im still an inpatient at Duke this morning. The diuresis (removal of fluid) continues today. Unfortunately, this is one of those things that can take some time until the doctors find the right combination of medicines to help my body release fluid. As far as I know right now (anything can change at any minute in a hopsital), I will probably go home sometime over the weekend or early next week. Im hoping to meet the transplant team before Im discharged, but if not, Ill come back on an outpatient basis. Being listed for an organ transplant is not as quick and easy as it may sound. Due to the fact that hearts are not just sitting on the shelf, there are many things to take into consideration. When the time comes and Ive completed interviews (yes, I must be interviewed before qualifying), there will be a full battery of tests to be completed. Then, the transplant team, which is composed of social workers, doctors, surgeons, coordinators, etc., will discuss my case and decide if I qualify. Once Im on the list, then its just a matter of waiting on Gods perfect timing for my new heart. Im still believing God for a supernatural miracle, but Im apprpaching this situation with faith. I know His ultimate will can only be carried out when I surrender to Him. So, thats what Ive done. He knows what the future holds and I know who holds my future. \0/
