Im still in the rehab center taking antibiotics. For over a week now Ive been getting sick after every meal. They believe its the infection in my blood or the meds Im taking for it. Im very protective of my drawing arm since my accident in 2006 and the two failed surgeries on it in 2007. After the first surgery April 13th, the PT i went through tore it up further and I had a second surgery to try to repair the damage, November 5th, 2007. It failed! Day before yesterday i was pushed to do some exercises on my drawing arm by a physical therapist who thought they had all the answers. I made the mistake of going along with their wishes. I can hardly type this ,the pain is so viscous. Though most all the people are nice here I am not a happy camper. over all the food SUCKS!!!! Tuesday night they served me tilapia. I noticed a fishy smell before it was even at my table. I took a bite and it had a nasty tuna taste. Tilapia is one of my favorite fish. In fact I enjoyed a good Cajun-blackned tilapia at IU-West hospital, at several meals, before I was moved in here. The fish had ether sat out to long before frozen and shipped or sat out to long after thawing. I reported it and was surprised to realize there seems to be some ignorance of proper refrigeration of raw fish in this kitchen. My suspicions of cross-contamination from improper handling of fish, fowl, pork, and beef may be well founded. Most of the mystery meats Im sure come pre-cooked and frozen then warmed up here but even food poisoning can happen, with pre-cooked frozen food if it sets out to long before being heated up. I do a lot of high-grading of my plates and Cathys bringing me in some fresh fruit. One funny think is they keep telling me Im on a low sodium diet yet theres a container full of salt packets at my place setting in the dining room;-)# At breakfast they tried to deny me a couple anemic looking strips of bacon with my fake scrambled eggs drowning in water. Chrissie, my nurse, is my hero. She made them give me the bacon. Shes secretly on the side of the disgruntled inmates and would talk treason and other high crimes if she could. Im leaving ether Sunday or Monday, that is if I survive long enough without getting my stomach pumped;-D#
