Im stranded in Atlanta awaiting my brother to come and take me - TopicsExpress

Im stranded in Atlanta awaiting my brother to come and take me home to be with my other brother who just passed away. This is by far one of the saddest times of my life. Sitting here waiting, answering texts and phone calls from all who knew Bobby and how close we were. I felt a strong need to reach out to all and this isnt something I normally do. So please bear with me. Bobby has gone through more in his life than most people Ive ever known. And yet he never gave up. He could be hard at times but he always did the best he could with whatever he had to work with. He had told me for years that he just wanted to make it to get his son through high school. He did that, and it was hard on him. He has fought so hard for the last few years that sometimes I couldnt imagine how he got from day to day. I think the love he had for his son and his mama was so strong, that his sickness just couldnt take him down. He has accomplished more in his lifetime than any 3 people I know combined. Ill always respect and admire him for that. If there was someone in need and he had 2 jobs going and a hazmat call out, he would be on the phone in a second working on all 4 issues at once. And no one was better at getting something done. He could never had done this without a little help from God, and Im sure he knew this. I didnt hear him pray, but it know what he prayed for, and God allowed him to do what he needed. I prayed with him Sunday and he hugged me for a long time. Ill never forget that hug and those tears. And I know God has him up there by his side helping him out. I loved him like a brother, my wife and kids loved him. And we were all so blessed to have gotten that close to him over the years. I want Charlie to know he loved you more than life itself. Everything he did was for you. I ask all my friends, all of Bobbys friends, and everyone else who reads this to pray for Charlie and Miss Geneva. Theyll need our love and support to get through this. And Bobby, if you can read this, I love you buddy, and thank you for all youve been to me over the years. And thank you for all youve done for Westminster, Oconee. County, and all the others you helped and supported. There will never be another like you, and I guarantee you, you left a big hole in our section of the world. We are all going to have to step it up now. Go with God my friend, Hes going to help us now. Im going to miss you so much.
