Im super excited about our Baby Starfish Brothers new pillow! I have an amazing, talented co-worker who takes custom crochet orders on the side. I ordered a starfish to send to our little guy as soon as we are cleared to send him a package. Well, she finished it yesterday and it came out great! So, my job now is to sleep with it for at least two weeks. The reports say, it helps transfer your scent onto the object and then our little guy will recognize us as a bit more familiar when the time comes. Anyone who has deployed (or has been the one left behind while their family member deployed) knows how important this truly is. To me, it was important to have that pillow from home... That smelled like home, reminded me of home, was part of my home, helped remind me I WOULD be going home.... I dragged an $8.00 pillow to Iraq and back. When I returned via Georgia, my bags were so full, they were busting! I emptied out the unimportant items that I could replace, or live with out, but the pillow came HOME with me... That $8.00 pillow was IMPORTANT. It was not replaceable. So, we will start sleeping with our starfish pillow, making sure all of us get our turn. I know, cheesy right.... Im a little afraid of the outcome lol.. Im sure it will be a mix of sweat, body lotion, pee, puke, late night fro-yo and nasal discharge... Yes, that would be buggers... But it will smell like Schmidt buggers and thats all that matters! Welcome to the family Baby Starfish Brother! :-)
