Im supposed to be a retired Optometrist, but now I practice internet eyecare. Here a three photos a former patient sent me asking me for an opinion. By taking a short history and viewing the photos a possible diagnosis can be made and treatment recommendations. The first photo is of the non-affected eye, used for comparison of the eye in question. You can plainly see the raised red elevation (bump). The third photo is the inside of the affected eye. Patient said it occurred suddenly and was very itchy. Diagnosis a bug bite. Patient then stated he thought he felt something like wings fluttering on his face, he swished it away and in a few moments the elevation appeared and the itchyness began. Treatmen: do not rub, use cold compresses and if it persists take an over the counter antihistamine. Now any guesses whos eyes they are?
