Im sure Ill catch some backlash for this, but Ive already heard enough about Ray Rice. Do I think that his actions were ok? ABSOLUTELY NOT!! But the victim, who has (since the incident) married Rice, continues to support him. He has been suspended from the NFL, kicked off his team & even the CFL (Canadian Football League) wants no part of him. He is undergoing counseling and Im sure that the 2, as a couple, are also undergoing therapy. The more the media blasts that video over the air, the more that gets taken away from the victim, Janay, who has chosen to try to pursue her life with Rice. That being said, this type of shit happens every day. Its a much bigger problem than the video weve all seen. The bottom line is, the man was put on blast and EVERYONE knows about it. If he is truly not that type of person then he will spend the rest of his days proving it. Its time to let these people heal their wounds. And, IMO.... when its earned, people deserve a 2nd chance. If Janay is willing to marry this man & that winds up being a lone incident, then why shouldnt he earn the right to get a 2nd chance? Not given, but earned. As for now, he will be working towards correcting his anger & making things right with his wife. Hopefully Ray can turn this around... not only for himself, but for his family. In the meantime, please STOP airing that video everywhere.
