Im sure some of you have already seen this video, but I wanted to hear some of your thoughts. I watched this and my heart broke! I wish I knew more about the teacher and the class to develop a thorough opinion. For a student to have the courage to stand up and say these things makes me feel one, a little more confident about the next generation of students striving for an education, and two, devastated about the teacher-education aspect that led this student to become so frustrated. I read some of the comments (again, not the most reliable of sources) and found a lot of positive and negative feedback to the students behavior. In this situation, would you go through disciplinary measures with this student? Or would you have a sit-down conversation and try to improve your teaching strategies in order to meet the students needs? I know that 100% of you would choose the latter, but do you think all teachers, even just in UNCs education program, would do the same? How do we foster this desire to always better ourselves as teachers in order to provide more for our students?
