Im sure were all thinking about our favorite Robin Williams performances as we contemplate the loss of such an iconic talent. For me, Good Morning Vietnam is amazing, & there is no competition for the title of greatest all time vocal performance in an animated feature. The Genie stands alone, much of the performance famously ad-libbed. 2 of my favorite Williams performances were in Insomnia & One Hour Photo, & of course he was great in Good Will Hunting. But the Fisher King will always be my favorite Robin Williams movie, & performance. His take on this deeply troubled character felt so sincere. An amazing mix of hope, madness, fear, loneliness, kindness, humor, sincerity, love, & courage, are on display here. It is a performance that no one else could have hoped to approach. The movie is sad, but what it accomplishes is utterly triumphant. It is very sad that Mr. Williams is gone from us, but what he accomplished in life is truly transcendent. Im glad he shared so much of his joy, & his pain, with us for so long. Rest in Peace, Robin Williams. You sir are completely irreplaceable. Nanu Nanu Fisher King
