Im taking the #SundaySong in a slightly different direction today. Both downtown & back to a few years ago when Spamalot was on Broadway. I found a bootleg video Id like you to see. You probably know the song, but maybe have never seen this. #BrightSideOfLife Eric Idles brainchild was a musical version of Monty Python & The Holy Grail, the 1970s movie parody of the King Arthur legend. But he also included the perfect Always Look on the Bright Side of Life (from Life of Brian). I was lucky enough to see the original cast including Tim Curry as King Arthur, Michael McGrath as Patsy (both seen in this video). Also in that cast were David Hyde Pierce, Hank Azaria and Sara Ramirez (as the Lady of the Lake). I wish I had a better word than brilliant. It was stunningly & smartly funny. If youre a Monty Python fan but dont know about this show - shame on you. If youre a fan of musical comedy, then you will surely know its genius.
