Im thinking of starting a Purgatory Flats Hard as Hell Multigun stage this year with a 5 shot 454 casull stage gun. 5 shots, 1 ar-500 grizzly bear. The .454 generates almost 5 times the recoil of the .45 Long Colt, and about 75% more recoil energy than the .44 Magnum. Thoughts? I want the HaH to be an experience match, where you do things you dont normally do. But maybe this is too much experience, perhaps a .44 magnum would suffice? BTW: I dont like stage guns, as a match director. Too fussy, but I think a big sturdy revolver ought to make the match (with a backup).
