Im told from down there that the Zim Chief Economist the Minister of Finance will with effect from next Monday begin taxing you guys on every purchase of your air time(pa juice card here vakomana?). At 5% rate it means for every $1 of air time you purchase you get just 95cents air time. Or maybe the service providers will introduce for you guys a $1.05c juice card. Lolz........! You know these ill advised buldge belly fellows shot themselves in the feet way back. Having realised the grabbed farms going dry like the Kalahari just after the first harvests af grains already planted before their lawfull takeover, and the looted inputs vanishing onto the black market that was never black but white to them. Now was time to front their energetic Saviour posing a mouth leaking greediness to impose the draconian shareholding structures on companies already struggling to sustain. This one saw industry nose diving like the Titanic, crumbling on its knees and shuttering lives of hundreds of thousands of Zimbabweans as they lost their jobs and their future and that of their families. Countless then are potential investors who got scared away by these unworkable conditions thereby shifting their interests to such countries with wise governance like The Rwanda. Here everything is just done to the investors tune with the government regulations so user friendly unlike the tough turf here on home ground. This writer is a victim of shamelessly losing investors due to these draconian regulations. Arent all these the people and companies from which government must be getting tax revenue from? How much then have they lost over the year? Billions of US dollars for certain. Now, they are back again on you. Sucking that little you had gone all the way to acquire through thin and thickest. They want to tax you for that air time you buy, the next thing that cellphone of yours will be made to pay tax as well. Oh my God! You gotta be carefull because one day you will wake up to the news that the gate by your own house is now a state toll gate. You pay as you enter or exit. This is where we come handy by saying the whole governance by the old guards needs to be revamped. We need not an overhaul but a total change of things here. Like Jesus said: Thou shall not pour new wine in old wine skins. Another GNU is nomore a solution, but DARE. DARE. DARE.
