Im trying to decide on what type of wiring and light fixtures I - TopicsExpress

Im trying to decide on what type of wiring and light fixtures I need for my LQ... 12v or 110v interior light fixtures. My trailer repair company will do the wiring and installation based on what I want. When I camp for any length of time, I plan to be plugged into shore power. Im going to have outlets installed to run a mini fridge/freezer and a microwave, and plug in a lamp and some small appliances (phone, dvd player) only when using shore power. I dont plan to ever camp with a generator or battery power. I want to add an overhead light above my tack area and one or two wall lights (sconce lights or reading lights) at the head of the bunk. Im shopping for those lights. RV fixtures, like those sold on jazzsales, say they are for 12v use only. When I look at regular 110v fixtures, they dont look durable enough to handle road vibrations; I certainly dont want delicate fixtures or a sconce with a glass cover. If I understand the electrical, then I either need to buy all 12v light fixtures and have a converter installed. That seems like overkill for a few lights. Or I need to find some decent 110v lights. Has anyone done a conversion with just 110v lighting inside? Where did you find your light fixtures?
