Im usually excited to talk about racing, but not tonight. Earlier today at Indiana Downs, the were two different incidents in a race in which two horses had to be euthanized and young jockey Juan Saez was gravely injured. One thing about the racing community, it is truly a family, and days like today are tough for everyone but especially for all those directly involved. My condolences go out to Tim Glyshaw and his staff, as well as Steve Asmussen and his crew on the loss of their horses. My heartfelt thought and prayers are with Juan Saez and his entire family during this difficult time. I know his jockey family and the rest of the racing community have him and his family in their heavy hearts....... This is the ugly part of racing that wants to rip your heart out, but those that love these animals and care for them know the must continue on, and so too do the jocks and trainers. May we not have another day like today for a very very long time......
