Im very proud to announce my partnership with PROOF Research, makers of fine carbon-fiber treated barrels. I sent then my Northtech Defense billet upper along with a box of small parts and they put together this slick 14.5 middy with a pinned and welded SJC Titan comp. They even CeraKoted the Proof logo on the front of my custom #crimsontrace Samson Evo rail. On top of all that they got it done lickety-split so I could have it ready in time for the Tactical Performance Center MultiGun Bootcamp last week. It ran like a champ once I oiled it up, and its a really flat shooting setup. In addition to a significant weight savings over an all-steel barrel, Proof makes incredibly accurate barrels. This one shot 1/2 MOA groups in factory testing, and Im sure itll do better once I work up a load for it. The carbon-fiber wrap also sheds heat far quicker than a conventional steel barrel. Its my opinion that extreme accuracy, light weight and good heat dissipation are exactly what a 3-Gun barrel needs, and Proof provides that in spades. Ill be running the new rifle this weekend at the 3-Gun Nation Southwest Regional, next weekend at the Blue Ridge Mountain 3-Gun and finally at the 3GN Pro Series Finals.
