Officers Tony Luong and Devon Perry are both recovering at home. Shumakes past is violent. In 1999, he committed armed robbery in Clayton County. He was convicted on two counts of armed robbery, and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Shumake was sentenced to 15 years in state prison. He entered prison in March, 2000, and he was released 14 years later, in March, 2014. Ball has a history of drug possession. He was arrested in 2005 and 2006 in Fulton County, and convicted in Fulton County on five counts of drug possession – including cocaine -- and sentenced to ten years in prison. His prison sentence began in October, 2007, and he was released less than two years later, in August 2009.
