Im wondering if any experienced wedding photographer can enlighten me on what they pay their assistants, for a typical wedding day? Im going on 4 years of assisting with a wonderful, local wedding photographer, and wondering if Im being compensated as per industry standard. I typically shoot the groom and groomsmen on my own in the mornings, and then spend the rest of the day second shooting. During the reception I will usually assist, by lighting and whatnot. I will work on average 13-14 hours (sometimes up to 16 hours), for a wedding day. What would you charge your assistant, with this level of experience, and hours?
