Im wondering why the Walking Dead has never addressed long term fuel storage ...or lack thereof. Modern vehicles would be the worst as they are built to increasingly strict tolerances for economy and balance and have little ability to compensate for low energy fuel and operate closer to the limits of their injector capacity ..so Injecting more fuel isnt a very good option for purely tuning and mechanical reasons as you would have tons of unburnt gunk build up very quickly ... it would tend to not fire on spark quite often and youd get a lot of incomplete burn, you cant just ADD more fuel to equal the energy needed for optimum power as most of todays cars are limited in their tuning adaptability (if I add a header to my BRZ right now id be running very lean and would need a seperate tune software to avoid damaging my engine) But mainly the issue here is even if you did those things ...most of the fuel has degraded into unburnable secondary compounds that arent very volatile ...so even if you get some power going your vehicle wont last long, the unburnt fuel remains will quickly turn to charcoal or form goo that will just make your engine go ....UGH At this particular point in the show its been what ..how many years since the initial societal collapse? Where are they getting FRESH fuel from.
