Im working on a thing that centers around a Smartest Guy In The Room type character*. But hes not very Sherlock/House like, by design. Hes cheerful and pleasant, if crazier than a sack of cats. But hes also substanially more ruthless than the commonly depicted SGITR. Hes not a sociopath (why he isnt would require some spoilery stuff) exactly - its that he doesnt quite view everyone else in the world as being quite real and it influences how he approaches problems. So, you know, basically reversing the way the trope usually plays out. Whether it works, well see. *Its not precisely true hes smarter than everyone else, but it works more or less that way..
