Im writing this post today because I can speak basic French. Whats the big deal? you might ask. The big deal is I learned it in not more than 12 hours. Well then, thats because you have a gift for languages (you might say). Well then, if I have such a gift for languages, how come it took me 6 years to learn basic Arabic, seeing that it should have taking a similar time since Arabic is as similar to Hebrew as French is to English, and Im equally fluent in both English and Hebrew. Well if youre not especially gifted with languages, what is it then? (might be another question). The answer my friend is **superior teaching methodology**. In this case of the French language by the recently deceased language master Michel Thomas( The Michel Thomas Method), famous for teaching such people as Woody Allen and Barbara Streisand the basics of the French language over a short period of time as a single weekend. Michel Thomas is not the only superior teacher I has encountered, and it has been well over a year since I first listen to his audio lessons, so what is the trigger which causes me to write this post now? The reason for this timing is that Im about to return to the world of academy. To continue and finish my BA in physics. Setting foot for the first time at a university classroom in 2010, it quickly became clear to me how backwards the teaching methodology is these establishments, where great challenges are placed upon the student and one might have hoped that the tools given to them will be more up-to-speed, moreover in a place which is supposed to be a lighthouse of progress. Yet the world of academy is governed by men. Men with their petty fears of change and their outdated psychological constructs. Having left the university at 2011, I searched for an alternative. I place where I could learn advanced science with approapriately advanced teaching methodology. No such place was found. Im writing this post today in search of like-minded people. People who understand and appreciate like me the universality of a good teacher for any field and any endeavour. People from my country and around the world. fellow students and teachers. Partners. Let us grow together. Introduce each other to these super teachers that we know and also become such people for ourselves and others. As a first step, I invite you to post a reply sharing your experiences with a super-teacher. A super-teacher is a person who has eccelerated manyfold the learning spead of both yourself and many other students, compared with self-learning and learning with other teachers.
