Im writing this while sitting in a gym with TEARS streaming down my eyes! I saw it tonight! Facebook friends I saw what might be the most emotionally moving thing I have ever seen in person on the court. Emily Kendall played in a varsity basketball game tonight for Mobile Christian! Emily is a special needs child with down syndrome that I have been blessed to know for many years. I began my relationship with her when I served as her family and youth minister. Tonight, Emily was put in the game against Leroy High School with a few minutes left. The crowd went crazy! And Emily, with the biggest smile God can give, made 4 points. The moving part of this story includes the AMAZING sportsmanship shown to her and Mobile Christian by the Leroy coaches and players! Words cant express the joy I share with you tonight to see Emily on the court. There are no words to express the joy in my heart for the kindness and sportsmanship shown by Leroy! Thank you for showing that kindness and for creating a life memory for Emily, her family and all of those that love her!
