Imaam Al Qurtubi was a calligrapher – he copied out a beautiful edition of the Gospels and deliberately put mistakes in it and took it to a Christian scholar of his time and asked him to read it and this Christian scholar said, “this is a beautiful copy of the Gospels…” likewise, he did the same with the Torah, and received the same response, then he did the same with the Qur’aan and the Muslim scholar who read it said, “we have to burn this”…and Imaam Qurtubi asked why…and the scholar said, “because it has mistakes in it…”
