Imaan 0 - 1 Loxwood Park Rangers Another 3 points in the bag for the mighty Lox has extended our unbeaten run in what was a tightly fought affair at Palmer Park. Loxwood played their best football in the opening 25 minutes of the first half and it was around this time that Craig Guze (not goose or boozey as some have rebranded him) broke down the left hand side, and cut the ball across to Josh Petty who on a good goal scoring run scored his third league goal of the season with a decent low finish to the left of the Imaan keeper. From this point onwards the game became very scrappy, not helped by the poor bobbly pitch which didnt really allow flowing football to be played. Lox managed to get into half time with our lead intact, even after Imaan had a very dubious penalty claim turned down by the referee. Into the second half and the game continued in a similar fashion to that of the later stages of the first half. Loxwood consistently had the better of the chances throughout the game and thought they had a penalty when a quick free kick was taken down the right wing and Petty was taken out, but the referee didnt agree. With just a one goal lead, things could have turned sour had Wayne Breadmore not made a fantastic one on one save to deny the on rushing Imaan midfielder who broke through the offside trap as the match dwindled on. Petty had another chance late on, but was denied by a great stop by the opponents keeper. Loxwood held on for the win and 6 points from 6 is a great start to the season. Not Loxwoods best performance, but a sign of a good team is to get through tough fought games and come out with the 3 points. Notable performances this week came from Matt Pole and Tom Mcnelly at the back who both looked solid for the full 90 minutes (I know Poley completing 90 minutes is a surprise). But man of the match this week went to Sam Woodruff for a cracking display once again in the middle of the park, he never gave up on anything and broke up many of the Imaan attacks. Training again this Thursday at Laurel Park, please try to get there as soon as you can we will try to get underway at about 6.30pm if possible. UP THE LOX!
