Imagine a country where the people play their part to build the country together, where the country becomes rich on the peoples hard work and unity, and imagine where the people are able to share in the wealth of what theyve built. And that no matter whether you are rich or poor, you are able to enjoy what youve built for the country, because there is a government that works for the people in the country and where the people would fight for themselves and where there is equality and shared responsibility for one another. This was a country Singapore could have shaped to become. This is what the Nordic countries are today. But today, Singapore is even richer than the Nordic countries but the government (or a particular political party) took from the people, arrested those who opposed them, scared the people so much so that people did not stand up for ourselves. And the government took and took, then made the people fight among themselves for bits. Today, Singapore is one of the richest country in the world. By right, our people should all be able to enjoy our lives because weve made the country so wealthy. But the PAP took so much from us, they took our money away, they made themselves rich while more and more of us are being made poor. And the PAP continues to make us beg from the little bits they throw back. The little Pioneer Generation Package, little CPF top ups and GST rebates. And then they earn from the rest of the money. Im not sure when Singaporeans will realise that we no longer have a government. When you let bankers take control of government, they will do whatever it takes to earn money for themselves. You are no longer a citizen but a took to make money.
