Imagine for one moment this is your story - You make a decision to rescue NOT buy a puppy , you wait until the perfect time ..when your family is ready for the responsibility .You begin your search ,you find her ..you go through all the hoops and challenges of applications ,home checks ,meeting the pup ..you fall in love ,you anxiously await the news if you will be chosen to give her a forever home .Then you get the news ..she is yours ...you cant wait to bring her home ,you prepare as any anxious new parent does . You buy the crate ,the toys ,the food ..the day comes you bring her home your family is now complete .Within a few days you notice somethings wrong . your new baby has a clear medical issue . You are told by your vet this issue isnt going away and in order for her to have a normal life she will most likely need surgery that will cost close to 5k. BUT even before this testing is required to confirm which is over $1000. You take all the necessary steps before making any decisions .You spend $100s on exams ,second opinions and medications .You then reach out to the rescue you adopted her from for assistance . They send you to their vet who confirms what all the others say ..What was supposed to be a joyous experience of adopting your new family member is now turned into a families hearts broken as no one is prepared to invest over 5k on a new puppy . What would you do ? well as the rescue who raised this puppy we will never abandon you in this type of situation nor do we judge or say ..its your dog you deal w it ..Does Stellas Hope have the funds to pay for Sadie to have a normal life NO ..but we do have an amazing support system of donors ,volunteers and previous adopters who we are reaching out to and begging for you to HELP us HELP this family who loves their pup and wants to keep her in their lives . This family has already spent close to $1000 on vet visits ,second opinions and medications ..money they didnt have to spend . Stellas Hope has also spent $ sending them to our vet for his opinion . I am asking you to put yourself in this families shoes and think if this was your dog would you not hope and pray that you had a rescue group willing to help you ? Would you not be forever grateful ? I AM ASKING ANYONE who has adopted a dog from us or anyone else for that matter to look into your hearts and find compassion for Sadies family and donate whatever you can so we can keep this family together .
