Imagine how good it would feel to live with more energy and joy. Think about how great it would be to find purpose in your frustrations and peace in your stress. It is possible when you drink deeply of God’s love. But when you get so busy God drifts to the fringes, and you dry up. Like when I got a notice from my homeowners association demanding I fix a yellow patch of grass on my lawn. I realized I hadn’t even noticed my dying lawn, it just happened slowly and subtly. The same thing happens to you spiritually when you aren’t intentional. Jesus invites you be refreshed in John 7:38 (NLT), “Anyone who believes in me may come and drink!...[and] ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’” You can be renewed today as you pause and drink freely from Jesus’ living water.
