Imagine spending thousands on a university degree only to realise after graduation that there is no demand for your profession .. Imagine entering a final year exam following torturous hours of preparation only to find that you’ve been revising for the wrong paper .. Imagine spending a lifetime climbing up a ladder only to find in the end that your ladder was leaning on the wrong wall .. The moment the horn is blown however and the emergence from graves begins every other purpose which people had lived for today - other than that of the hereafter - will all of a sudden seem like a regretfully wasted opportunity. It will be said to such a person: “You were heedless of this! So we have removed from you your curtains now, so your sight today is piercing!” (Chapter 50 | Verse 22) S/he couldn’t see it today despite the frequent advice they’d received but on That Day, their vision will be as sharp as steel, “piercing” and one’s previous supposed “success” on earth will be reduced to tears of fear, misery and failure. Regardless of the array of causes out there which people call towards, the diverse reasons which anger people, the countless matters which people choose to debate, the different avenues which they identify as of prime concern, let them be gender struggles, career prospects, fame, aspiration for leadership or their likes .. On That Day, it’ll become clear which cause was most worthy
