Imagine that we could support 10 EXP 18 Human Persons per solar - TopicsExpress

Imagine that we could support 10 EXP 18 Human Persons per solar mass such as on space-stations and planets and habitable moons throughout the visible universe. Now the mass of the Sun is 2 x (10 EXP 27) metric tons. The baryonic mass in the observable universe is about 10 EXP 50 metric tons. This means that 5 x (10 EXP 40) human persons could live simultaneously in the observable univese alone. Assume each human can live 1,000 years by biomedical longevity extension, this works out to be 5 x (10 EXP 47) human persons given a chance for life in the observable universe over the next 10 billion years. We can allow this grand vision to begin here and now by mentioning to everyone of interest the virtues of special relativistic inertial space propulsion and how we need not even be able to reach light speed for this to happen. Even modest space-arks and world ships traveling at 50 percent the speed of light can enable this to all come to fruition. The rate of universal expansion seems to be increasing but this increase may level off and slow to a crawl in the depths of future cosmic time. This would certainly enable canonical ensembles and even infinity scrappers of human persons living simultaneously. How can this all come about you might ask? Well, the answer is nuclear fusiion. Atoms for peace to propell many generation ships and space arks.
