Imagine this. Youre in the firemans seat of a 3000hp covered wagon which is leading a sister unit on a fast freight. The throttle is in notch 8 and because the cab window is open, you can hear that thumping turbo charged exhaust. The unit is starting to sway as you get the train up to 110 kmh. Look in your mirror and there is two roots blown covered wagon in the distance leading an express passenger train that can do 5 kmh faster at 115. You both have about 50kms to run before you arrive at your destination. For the next 30 or so minutes you zig zag each other and all four units are screaming in this great race. Eventually the B leading the S class won the day as we came into Melbournes outer bubs. But, I gotta tell you it was an adrenalin rush as we were parallel over level crossing and through stations where all the people could do was stand back as we flew though scooping up rubbish and anything else not nailed down and to think, it was just another day at work in the year 2000. Wow!
